Darkmoon Faire Arbitrage

Wow LOL! It is time once again for the Darkmoon Faire to operate near Goldshire. And, it is probably my second most favorite camping technique. My first being the Barrow Dens. I say “Camping” instead of “Farming” as an indication that your toon sits there and lets the valuables respawn, and then it is mostly a matter of clicking to harvest.

The primary target at the Darkmoon Faire is Lhara. She is a female orc in the booth towards the back of the main circle. Most things she sells is an arbitrage opportunity. However, be careful of the few items which are going to result in a loss. These are mostly soulbound rings and necklaces, but, there are also gems that can bite you. Typically, these items are priced like 4g or 12g, but are only worth about 1g.

I use a World of Warcraft addon that helps me with a fairly accurate awareness of values in AH for an item. Cannot remember what it is called currently because it was installed a long time ago, besides, there are several available and the important thing is that you have an idea what things are worth on your realm.

My second target stands right next to Lhara, Professor Thaddeus Paleo, and he sells scrolls and potions. I don’t worry too much about getting these, but he is there and it is one more thing to pick up, so, if Lhara seems slow to respawn, or I have extra time on my hands I check with the Professor. Be careful though! Many more of his items are not worth getting! However, according to my appraisal addon, some of those scrolls only cost a few silver in exchange for, like, 64s… not a bad arbitrage. On the other hand, another nice thing about Lhara is that she sells mats, and I have alt toons who can use them as a cheap source for crafting. In fact, Lhara stuff I rarely resell, whereas with the Professor, most all of his stuff is for resale.

My third target is Flik. You want the limited availability Wood Frog. The other stuff he has can be a money maker too, but sells for less and slowly, so, do not overstuff you bags with it. For example, I typically charge 42g for a Wood Frog on AH and, although, I have gotten that for Tree Frog too, 8g is more common.

About half a dozen npc for getting darkmoon faire tickets from. So far, I have not gone crazy exploiting these. It is more complicated and possible to lack profit. Some of the other vendor items have AH potential, but not alot and can be slow sellers.

The real treasure of the Darkmoon Faire is Lhara and her rapidly respawning inventory!
